I began using YouTube in the classroom last year. My students made cooking videos with the help of the video production class. They loved it! But it was a lot of work to produce. We also used YouTube to learn how to fabricate a rabbit. They wanted to cook rabbit for a competition and I hadn’t cut one up since culinary school so we looked to YouTube. By the time they competition came around two of my students were experts because they’d watched the video and practiced so much.
I think I could’ve used Facebook more for my students but I haven’t learned the best way to implement that into my curriculum. I love to watch the short cooking videos on following tasty on Facebook. I like how the videos are quick and simple.
I like using Pinterest for decorating inspiration or graphics for students.
I like Linkedin to learn what’s going on in the professional world.
I’m never on Twitter, I’ve gotten get on it!
